DESIGNER INSIGHTS: NAVY
Sherwin-Williams just announced NAVAL as their pick for Color of the Year 2020! Coincidentally, this year, Siteline introduced NIMBUS, inspired by NAVAL. It’s a deep blue paint reminiscent of nimbus clouds, which produce rain.

Christina Simon, ASID, CKD, authorized Siteline dealer and owner of C/S Design Studio, LLC in Clifton, VA has some interesting insights about the navy trend in cabinetry.
“Dark blues are bold and daring, but pleasing and welcoming to most. Navy pairs well with white and gold accents, plus coordinates well with rustic reclaimed woods and marble look quartz, all items that our clients are asking for.”
She adds, “Typically we see dark blue used as an accent or on an island, however we see that changing as our homeowners are considering it for their entire kitchen! We love this trend as the white kitchen has been a mainstay and classic, especially in the DC metro and surrounding Virginia areas. Designing a kitchen entirely with a deep blue cabinet is unexpected but we love the drama and contrast.”
We couldn’t agree more, Christina!
Nimbus is a beautiful complement to a bright white paint, such as Iceberg, or the subtle elegance of Alder, Sandpiper. Nimbus is available with Black Glaze. To learn more about Nimbus or other Siteline finishes, read more here.
