Authorized Siteline designer, Jan Neiges of Kitchen Traditions of Colorado, located in Denver, Colorado shares a recent kitchen remodel.
“This professional young couple had other remodeling projects on the bucket list but wanted to start with the kitchen first,” Jan says. “Their main goal was to improve storage and counter space without increasing the size of the kitchen. They wanted a contemporary look – clean lines – no clutter,” she adds.
The former kitchen did not offer much storage; the cabinets did not go all the way to the ceiling, and the existing fridge was too bulky for the space. The biggest challenge in the remodel was that the area for the kitchen could not be expanded.
“We designed the cabinets stacked to the ceiling which was crucial for the contemporary look,” Jan notes. “We also played with the depth where needed, providing the extra storage for those once-a-year items” she comments.
By converting the range to an induction cooktop and stacking the microwave and oven on the opposite wall, this gave much needed storage below.
The kitchen features the Siteline Malone door style, with Aria, a Thermally Fused Laminate, or TFL.
