SOUTHWEST STYLE

When one thinks of Southwest design of yester-year, terracotta tiles, gaudy patterns, and traditional Wild West pieces come to mind. However, that is not the Southwest trend that is making a comeback today.

The Southwest style of today features neutrals with small pops of color, warm leather, and tribal patterned textiles, with subtle touches of desert imagery. It’s less traditional than it once was – it intermingles many design themes, such as Spanish and Native American, traditional and eclectic, to create something cohesive yet contemporary.

Cabinetry isn’t just for the kitchen – check out our living room inspiration board below!

What better wood for a hot and dry environment than Alder? Available with 23 stain and glaze combinations, we chose Alder in Natural highlighted with a Black Glaze on the Fleming door style to show off the beauty of this wood.

Complete the look with a tribal-neutral patterned rug, cognac leather sofa, and rustic side table, with small touches of desert landscape with a cacti hook coat rack and cacti-like lamp, and a bright traditional Southwest patterned pillow to anchor the space.
